Safe, Bed-to-Bed Stretcher Transport in Toronto & the GTA — When a Car Isn’t an Option

Pre-scheduled, non-emergency medical transport for hospital discharges, appointments, and other medical transfers. Trusted by families and healthcare teams.

We understand.
Getting a loved one home or to an appointment shouldn't feel impossible.

Families and care teams call us every day because one of these situations sounds familiar:

"The hospital says my family member is ready for discharge — but we have no safe way to get them home."

"A regular vehicle or wheelchair van won't work. They need to lie flat the entire way."

"They have a medical appointment, but I can't take time off work and they can't sit up in a car."

"The appointment requires stretcher transport, wait, and return — I don't know who offers that."

This is exactly what Aurevia was built to solve.

What Families & Care Teams Say

"After my father's hip surgery, the hospital said he couldn't go home in a car. Aurevia walked us through every step. The two attendants were patient, careful, and treated him with dignity. From hospital bed to home bed — seamless."

Wyatt M.

Post-surgical discharge transfer

"I have a condition that means I can't sit up for more than 10 minutes. Aurevia's stretcher transport let me lie flat to my appointment and back. No rushing. No discomfort."

Eleanor R.

—  Client, Mississauga, ON ;

Wait & return appointment transport

"Aurevia reduces the back-and-forth that usually comes with transfers. They communicate directly with our floor staff, show up in their window, and handle handover properly. That makes a real difference on shift."

"I have now scheduled a few transfers with Aurevia. They're reliable, professional, and most importantly — my clients feel safe. That's rare in non-emergency transport."

Hospital Discharge — Getting Home Safely

After surgery, injury, or illness, sitting in a car can be painful or medically unsafe. Your loved one needs to remain lying flat or semi-reclined — and you may not have a way to get them home.

How we help:

  • Bed-to-bed from hospital room to home bed

  • Two attendants handle everything — you don't lift

  • Confirmed pickup window — no waiting all day

Medical Appointments — With Wait & Return

Dialysis, oncology, wound care, or specialist visits. Your loved one cannot travel in a regular vehicle — and you may not be able to take time off work to drive and wait.

How we help:

  • Stretcher transport to the appointment

  • Optional wait & return — crew stays onsite

  • Consistent timing you can rely on

Moving Between Facilities — Hospital to LTC or Rehab

Discharge from hospital to long-term care, or moving between nursing homes or rehab facilities. Coordinating this yourself can be overwhelming.

How we help:

  • Smooth handover — no gaps in care

  • Clear communication with you every step

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide wheelchair transportation? Aurevia provides stretcher-based transportation. If your loved one uses a wheelchair, they will be transported safely on a stretcher, and the wheelchair can be secured inside the vehicle when required.

Do you provide stair assistance? Yes. Our crews are equipped with a stair chair when required. If there are steps at the pickup or drop-off location, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly and ensure safe handling.

What does “bed-to-bed” service mean? Our service includes complete bed-to-bed assistance. We transfer your loved one from their chosen location inside the pickup address — whether a bed, sofa, or entry area — and assist them safely to the desired location at the destination. You do not need to move them to the curb or building entrance.

Do you offer wait-and-return service? Yes. Wait-and-return (or Treat and Return) transfers are available with pre-purchased time blocks. For longer appointments, we can schedule a return pickup after a minimum interval following drop-off.

How much notice is required to book? We recommend booking in advance whenever possible. Short-notice transfers are subject to availability.
